Raffle Quilt

Every other year my guild puts on a quilt show. I have to say it is a really nice show. We hang from 250 to 350 quilts. We also have many nice vendors, a market place and raffles. For the raffle

we always have a raffle quilt. The quilts have varied greatly from year to year. Our next show is in Nov. of next year, so preparations have begun. A group of quilters from our gui

ld who meet weekly to hand quilt volunteered to make the raffle quilt this time. Yesterday they brought the top by to show me. It is lovely! They used my book, making each block twice so it would be a queen size. Their work is fantastic and it is so fun to see what someone else has made from my patterns. The quilt will be hand quilted by volunteers.

Hmm...Maybe I could be the winner.

SEWN Winner

Okay girls, here's the news. There were 69 of you that commented to win the pincushion in the SEWN drawing. I used the random number generator to choose the winner. You each got a number corresponding to the order your comments were received. Number 59 is the winner.
JUSTINE no-reply blogger. I have no way to reach you, so please send me your email and mailing address by Fri. and I will send the pincushion and pattern.

Thanks to all of you for playing along and reading my blog. Check back often, you never know what you'll find.

Boonslick Trail Quilters' Guild

I am a member of the Boonslick Trail Quilters' Guild. I love my guild. It is full of friends, we have great programs and lots of fun. This past year I served as president of the Day Chapter. It was a great year and I am kind of sad to let go. I will be serving as Vice CEO this year. Yesterday we had our annual meeting to mark the year end. We had breakfast and a business meeting followed by a lecture/trunkshow on doll quilts.

At the end of the year members are asked to make a block for the president. The block I chose is a nine patch in a square. I received 50 blocks made from 1800 reproductions. I can't tell you how thrilled this makes me. I sat down this morning and joined all the blocks to make the quilt center. I plan to go to the quilt shop this afternoon and buy my border fabrics. It went together pretty well. There are always little fitting in issues when you have the work of 51 different quilters(including me.) But I love it and can't wait to get the borders on.
