Looking Like Fall

Many of you have inquired about the pattern/designer of the last quilt. It is from a book called Stitched with Love by Robyn Pandolph. The book is several years old, and came with a cd that had all the templates on it.

Blogger Problem

You may have noticed that my follower widget is missing. This makes it impossible to sign up to follow the blog. This is a problem with blogger and I assume they are trying to fix it as there are hundreds of blogs with this problem. They have pages of reports from all of us with the problem. Please be patient until this is fixed. Sorry if anyone is inconvenienced.
Seems to fixed now. Thank goodness.

Block 2, Pat Sloan Forum and More

Okay quilters, here is the much anticipated Block 2. It is a Rose Wreath. Remember that all blocks finish at 12" and are set on point.http://www.scribd.com/doc/19982491/Block-2-Rose-Wreath /This is the link to your pattern. I used 1/2" bias tape maker to make my wreath stem. I marked a circle that measured 7 1/2" with a chalk pencil to guide where the inside edge of my stem would be. This helps to make sure you have room for all the pieces.
Now here's the fun part. Pat Sloan has graciously set up a forum for everyone to chat about their progress and there is even a Flickr page for all of you to post the block photos so we can see them all. Is that great or what? You will have to head over to http://www.patsloan.com/ and thank her because I could never have pulled that off with my computer skills. http://quiltmashup.com/index.php/board,50.0.html This is the link to the forum. I am very excited about this because it let's me actually interact with you guys! Everyone has been on the ball with the first block but I know sometimes half way in we lose some steam. I think this will be a fun way to stay motivated. Here's the link to post your photoshttp://www.flickr.com/groups/1189771@N25/ . Now get sewing!

New Eagle

I don't know what I did to the photo but I can't fix it. I am posting anyway because I want everyone to see Liz's lovely fabric! Look at those eagles. She used the buttonhole stitch and it looks great!

Block

This block was made by Lin at http://www.uniquelyyourscreations.blogspot.com/. Her photo washed out a little, it is actually navy on beige. Look for a new block sometime next week. I plan to have it posted before the 1st. You guys don't like to wait and I love to give stuff away.

Eagle

I got an email from Diane at http://www.quiltingisblissful.blogspot.com/ with a photo of her eagle. I love the brown. She made a fun comment. She said she was happy with her fabric choices and then she saw all the other blocks and wished she had done something different.

Isn't that always the way? I have some asking me for a side button for the BOM. Here's the deal, I am not very tech. advanced and don't know how to make button. So if my IT person is reading this, what do you think Nancy? Also if any of you know how to do this, email me and I will see what I can do.

And Another

This block was done by Ann R. Notice the shield she added to the eagle. I love it! Remember when I was talking about someone wanting the next block already......

Another Eagle Block finished

I received this photo from Nancy G. She has finished her eagle block. I love her choice of colors. It is alot of fun to see what fabric everyone is using. Each quilt will be so different.I always tell people in my beginner class that applique is addicting. I now have the evidence to prove it. A certain someone who previously could take or leave applique has been trying to get the next block in advance. At the rate she's going we would have the quilt done in 10 weeks. Good things come to those who wait.

Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.

I know you guys get tired of hearing me go on about the greatness of my guild, but.....

Our guild has a Special Speaker once a year. This is in addition to the regular meetings and is generally held in the fall. This year we hosted Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. As Vice CEO, I had the privilege of spending 2 days in her company. Carrie gave a lecture and trunk show in the evening and the next day taught a 6 hour workshop on her pattern Short Story.

Carrie is one of the nicest, most genuine people you will ever meet. And the creativity in this woman is amazing!! I am a pincushion freak, so I was thrilled to see her Fruit Salad Pincushions and get a pattern. These are the best I have seen.
The workshop was full of happy quilters and I was sad to see her go so soon.
Have I told you how great my guild is ???

Carrie asked me to photoshop 20 lbs. off her but I think she's fine just as she is.
