Quilt Market

We leave bright and early Thursday morning for International Quilt Market in beautiful Salt Lake City. Five years ago I had my first booth in Salt Lake. I had been writing books and doing magazine work for a couple of years and had a few stand alone patterns but decided if I wanted to make a go of my company's patterns I would need my own booth, so off we went. It was a great learning experience and here I am ready to head off again. I had originally planned to release several new quilt designs and some wool patterns but then life happened. When Dad got sick I had no idea how much care he would need so I didn't think it would be possible to get everything done for a booth so I called the folks at Quilts Inc. and they graciously allowed me to cancel. That turned out to be the right choice There is no way I could have made it. So things took a different turn. A big and exciting book contract came through and those new quilt designs are going in it. And the wool designs are going to market after all. I will be displaying them and doing demos in the Valdani Threads booth.
I have five new patterns that are part of The Vintage Tag Series. They are all wool, measure 14" x 22" and are so fast, fun and easy to make. They look great displayed on a table or hung on a wall.
I love tags and I love wool table mats for decor.

It seemed like the perfect combination.

Along with these five patterns I also have a coordinating thread collection from Valdani threads.
The thread collection has 12 balls of 3-strand floss and 4 balls of size 8 pearl cotton. All the colors you need to make all five tags. The patterns and thread are in my store now. (click on the bird in the sidebar) And hopefully, will be in your local quilt shop after market. This fall I will release the next set of patterns from The Vintage Tag Series. I am anxious to get your feedback so let me know what you think! I will be back soon with my book news. I can't wait to share more with you.
Happy Quilting, Dawn
