Botanical Sketchbook

Seems that spring has sprung early here in mid- Missouri. We have been staying in the upper sixties and well into the seventies everyday, making it hard to stay inside and work. I have made it a point to walk every day with my dog despite looming deadlines. My travel for teaching and trunkshows is gearing up. The Heartstrings needle turn class is full with a waiting list and shortly there after I am headed to Shell Knob, Mo to do a trunkshow.
In addition to my preparation for classes in France I am working on new patterns for quilt market. I thought you might want a few peeks at what I am working on. These photos are a glimpse at a wool BOM I will be releasing.
It is called Botanical Sketchbook. Wool on cotton and it will be a 7 or 8 month program, depending on how I write it up. I am so pleased with the way this turned out. This quilt has been in my sketchbook for some time, just waiting for it's turn. I will have a thread collection with Valdani to go with this pattern. Hopefully you will see it in your local quilt shop. That's all for now. Talk to you soon!
Happy Quilting, Dawn

    1. I am not aware of any conversion charts for DMC to Valdani. I think you will have to wing it. DMC floss is all solids and Valdani is not only variegated but hand dyed so I would think a chart would be hard to find. Sorry to be of so little help.

  8. Hello Dawn,

I saw your Botanical Sketchbook BOM pattern for sale via Primitive Quilts Magazine, but it was only the pattern and no information on how to join in the BOM quilt along. Is this still going to happen? Will you be sending out the fabrics with each block in the pattern? (I hope!) Please advise, and thank you for all your lovely designs.
