Something New

Hello Quilters! I thought I would pop in and do a quick post about what I have been up to. It's been a really busy few months and there is more on the way. The Heartstrings workshop overfilled and was a marvelous start to my teaching for the year. I am heading to Ottawa, Illinois tomorrow for a trunk show and workshop titled All About Applique. I am pretty excited to do this work shop, it's on wool applique combined with needle turn. I am always looking for new folks to bring into applique!
And then this came my way! This is the cover for my new book, From the Linen Closet. To say I love it would be an understatement. I am so thrilled with the way it turned out and can't wait to share more of it with you. This will be my sixth book and I think I am as excited with this one as I was for the first. It will be available in France in April, just in time for Pour l'Amour du Fil and will be in the US in May. If you are attending Quilt Market, I will be doing a Schoolhouse for the book so you can see all the quilts. There a some quilts in this book that are my all time favorites that I have designed so far and am looking forward to sharing them with everyone.
Speaking of Quilt Market- I am releasing two new block of the month programs. The first is Botanical Sketchbook which I gave you  a glimpse of in the previous post and the second is Fairhaven.
Fairhaven is cotton applique. It will be a 10 month program.
It is reds, greens, and golds on a woven background from Diamond Textiles.
I am really happy with the way this quilt is turning out. It's going to be a stunner if I say so myself. It will be around 80" square, so a great size.
After posting about Botanical Sketchbook I got a flood of emails requesting info to sign up so here is the info for both BOM designs.
I am designing the patterns sets to be shown at market to quilt shops. Hopefully lots of quilt shops will purchase the pattern sets. Which means they would offer the BOM, fabric kits etc. I will not be kitting. I don't have time as I am a one woman show here. I will have the pattern set available for retail purchase in my online shop and will try to create a list of shops that are participating in each. So if you want to be able to get either program, one block a month with fabric etc. tell your favorite quilt shop to pick it up. That's how it works. Shops have to know that their customer base is interested in being a part of the program. Just from the peeks Lone Star Mercantile has said they are going to carry Botanical Sketchbook and Auntie Ju's Quilt Shoppe is interested in Fairhaven.
So, that's all I've got for you folks. Off to pack!
Happy Quilting, Dawn
