Vicksburg Month 4

http://www.scribd.com/doc/22909200/Ribbon-Wreath
Okay, since next week is a holiday week with a million things going on I am giving you the next block for the BOM today. This month's block is a ribbon wreath with a star in the center. This is pretty simple and fast to stitch. I have a photo of the block as well as a photo of the blocks we have done so far. Remember there will be sashing between the blocks so don't start setting them together yet. I have shown them like this just for a visual. It's starting to look like a quilt. Are you getting excited yet? I have been asked about size on this quilt. It will be about a 65" square when finished, which is a pretty good size for a free quilt. You are using your FREE stash fabric, right? How many of you have bought fabric for this project?

Make sure to click on the link on my sidebar for the Pat Sloan quilt mashup forum and flickr page. This let's you stay connected with others working on the same project. There are some great photos on the flickr page. Happy Quilting and Happy Thanksgiving.

  2. I like the new block. It is different from any other applique block I have seen.
I have not purchased any fabric for this project so it has all been "free".

  3. Nice ribbon block, Dawn. Looking forward to stitching this one! All of the fabric I am using has come from my stash, except I have to confess that when you mentioned sashing, I knew I didn't have yardage of anything suitable....so I did purchase sashing fabric!

Thanks for the block and Happy Thanksgiving. =-)

  7. Love the new block.
Still using recycled wool that I have had for awhile. Happy to be using some of it up.
I still have hand work to do on 3 of the star blocks but busy with Christmas quilts, waiting for a nice big snow to do hand work.

  9. Using my stash! That is, sort of.....I want to find more of the eagle fabric and use it in my pieced blocks but if I'm not successful by the end of the year, then I'll find something in my stash. :-)
