Patriot

This is my latest layer cake pattern. It is called Patriot. The fabric is La Petite Ecole from French General. It is not patriotic at all but it sure feels that way once you add all the stars. This is a fast and fun quilt to make. It uses a layer cake only and measures 39"x39". The backgrounds are pieced and the stars all applique. The fabric will be available in Dec. if I am not mistaken.

I pick up the pattern covers from the printer this afternoon and it should be available for order by the end of the week. Once this quilt does the circuit, it will have a home in my living room. I really love it. If you love stars leave me a comment by Wed. 27 and I will pick a winner for the pattern.

On a different note. I wanted to share some photos of my friend Shirley's blocks. She is making Creve Coeur using Wildflower Serenade II from Kansas Troubles.

Love that purple rooster! That's all for today.

Happy Quilting, Dawn

  2. My heart got that excited flutter in it when I saw the picture in my blogger feed. I have this great friend who recently got out of the Army and is having a hard time adjusting to civilian life again. I was thinking about making him a quilt for Christmas or at least his birthday and have been trying to find a good pattern, this one would be PERFECT!

  13. Dawn I can't believe the fabric isn't totally patriotic because it sure looks that way - I love it! I'm embroidering a baby quilt now (bunnies) that has stars added in a few places. They're just going to make the quilt. :) blessings, marlene

  14. Hi, I don't usually "go" for small quilts but when I saw this one my first thought was I've got to make this quilt--love the stars on the pieced background. It's very eye catching and different.
