Mad Dash to Market

I am getting down to crunch time now. I have 6 patterns to have ready for Market , am finishing a book and trying to squeeze in some projects from the strike offs of my new line "Best Wishes". It is so exciting to work with fabric that you have created. It is fun to see how well the prints work together in "real life". Above is the progress I have made with the quilt. I showed part of the center block in a previous post. I still have berries to add and a bit of embroidery. I am pretty happy with the way it is coming together. This is about the size it will be. I am pretty limited at what I can make because I only have a very limited amount of fabric, so I have to wait til yardage arrives to do  some of the things I really want to do.

Not everyone who buys fabric makes quilts so I felt like I needed to show other things made from the line. Above is a very simple bag that I made using 2 of the red prints with the green diamond print. I love the green with the reds. I am sucker for vintage florals so I am super happy with the florals in the line.
Here is a little cosmetic bag made from a couple of prints from the blue colorway. I don't think you can beat plaids and florals. One of the patterns that will be coming soon features the floral and plaid for borders. Keep watching for more. And if you like what you see, be sure to ask your local quilt shop to pick it up!

We Have Come to the End

I can't believe we are finished with Hartfield. This is the third BOM that I have done online and it has just flown by. Thanks to all who have sewn along! As with all the blocks, this block and finishing instructions will be available ONLY for 4 weeks. On May 16 it will be deleted and you won't be able to download. At that time I will be releasing this design as a packaged pattern, so if you missed out it will be available for purchase.I will take this pattern to Market for shops to purchase as well.  Would you like to see what the whole quilt looks like?
I am pleased with the way it turned out. I apologize for the crappy photo. I had a terrible time trying to photograph the quilt while it was being attacked by a cat that shall remain nameless. I plan to scallop the borders on this quilt but it can't be done until it has been quilted. After I finish I will post scallop templates for those of you who choose to do the same. The LINK will take you to the templates and border info but I forgot to add the dimensions for the last block. Cut your background fabric to measure 12 1/2" x 51 1/2". It is a big block!
Thanks for all the kind comments on my Baltimore Folk Album. I will have more new patterns coming soon.

Gossamer

Perfect for spring! Gossamer from Cottage Charm- Cozy Quilts and Cross Stitch Projects. This quilt is a great stashbuster. There are 81- 8 1/2" blocks. The butterflies do not require a large amount of fabric so you can use up alot of smaller pieces. This is a very portable project, making it easy to stitch on the go.

April Tool's Day

Lissa Alexander of Moda Fabrics is has a blog post today titled April Tool's Day. She contacted several quilters, myself included, and asked what tool or tools could we not live without. She has a long list of  each quilter's tool and why they can't live without it. Head on over and check it out. HERE is the link.

Can you believe all these posts from me? It is because I have so many deadlines that are nearly impossible to make, so I am ignoring them. Smart huh?

Behind the Scenes

I am always working on things I can't share with you but since January bit by bit some of  those things are coming to light. This is one of those things that I have been working on behind the scenes. Above is a quilt called The Legacy Sampler. This quilt and everything that goes along with it has been in the making since last Spring Market in Salt Lake City. There are 16 of us designers involved. We each designed a block for the quilt and sewed it. The quilt was then assembled by a couple of the designers and it was then quilted and photographed by sponsors. It is made from Jo Morton fabric by Andover. They are also one of our sponsors.
We will be having a "booth hop" at Market and this quilt plays a huge part in it. Market attendees will receive a passport in their buyers guide. Stop by each of the designers booths and get a stamp on your passport. Drop the passport in the collection box in the Andover booth. At the end of Market there will be drawings for prizes. Each designer is donating patterns, books and gadgets for prizes. The big prize is the quilt! One lucky shop owner will win the quilt we made. Also, each shop with a finished passport will receive a free download of the pattern to be used for a BOM or kits in their shop. How cool is that?
We even have a website that lists each of the designers and their sites. You can check it out here- kansascitymarch.com
