What IHave Been Working On

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, no need to read on. If you don't follow me on those sites, this post is for you, constant reader. Once again I have been absent from the blog. I have been in a one woman war with our internet provider. Our connection has been so intermittent that blog posts have been impossible. I think I may be on the winning side now.
The photo above is a box of quilts weighing 49 pounds bound for France. Along with the quilts are 116 written pages, 56 pages of applique templates and numerous hours of mental labor that after some artful editing and a photo shoot or two will become my sixth book. I thought I would never top the excitement of my very first book in print but I think that will not hold true.
My sixth book is a real milestone for me and what I have accomplished in 7 years. The working title is From The Linen Closet and I am thrilled to say it is being published by Quiltmania. I feel that the books that Quiltmania produces are some the best and I am so humbled to be able to say that I am now one of their authors.
This book will feature 17 quilts of various sizes and will contain wool applique, cotton applique and piecing. The projects run from simple designs like the quilt above to some very complex designs.
I thought you might want to see a few peeks at some of what will be in the book when it is released in the spring.

I am pretty pleased with the quilts I designed for this book and can't wait to share it all with you. Quiltmania hosts a quilt show called Pour l'Amour du Fil each year in April and I will be there this year for book signings and to teach two workshops.  The book will be released for the show so only a few more months.
Barring a useless internet connection, I will be back soon with more!

Happy Quilting, Dawn
