I thought I would give you a little sneak peek of something I have been working on. Some time back Moda generously sent me a layer cake to design with. The fabric is the lovely Martinique by 3 Sisters. It is to die for! Designing with a layer cake is something new for me and I had to think awhile to come up with an idea that would be in my style within the limitations of the layer cake. Well, it is done and here is a sneak peek. The pattern is called French Wrens. It uses 1 layer cake and no additional fabric except for binding and backing of course. The pattern is being published as a Hot Off the Presses pattern by the KC Star and is set to be on the market around the same time the fabric is available, which should be late Feb. or March. What do you think? It was a lot of fun to do and I am thinking of doing a second version in different fabric. When the pattern becomes available I will do a giveaway, so keep watching.
Great quilt! Especially with the limitations of a layer cake. You worked wonders!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I too would have been stumped looking at the layer cake and coming up with something different than anybody has already done. You've done a fantastic job from what I can see!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fantastic...and I love the fabrics.... I know I will love to look at the whole quilt..;o)
ReplyDeleteI love what I see of the sneak peek. And I like the idea that you did it with a layer cake. The layer cakes are so tempting. Looks like a quilt that I would be interested in.

Your head is full of wonderous ideas for our quilting pleasure. I can hardly wait to see the actual quilt and get the pattern. Thank you for sharing with us ahead of publication.
